Meet Your Instructor
Melissa is a 500 hour registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. She studied Yoga at Mira Costa College in San Diego, CA along side many talented and spiritual individuals.
Melissa was born and raised in Southern California and fell in love with yoga her Sophomore year of high school. She attended a local studio with her mom regularly. It was then that Melissa noticed the amazing affect yoga had on her mom who was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, Lupus. She was amazed at how the body heals from meditation and a regular yoga practice.
Melissa started her study in yoga after she gave birth to her son in July of 2017. While working on her 300 hour certification, she wanted to give back for her yoga internship. At the time, she lived on Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. As a way to connect with other spouses, Melissa offered free beach yoga for all military spouses.
She graduated and became a certified 500 hour instructor in August of 2018. After graduation, Melissa began teaching corporate yoga at Parcel Pending in Irvine, CA. She has discovered yoga in the workplace is important because it reduces stress and improves mental clarity. Participants have also discovered that daily yoga practice is helpful in their daily work lives and has improved the morale of the workplace.
Melissa and her family will be relocating to Northern Vermont this year, where she will offer a variety of yoga classes and continue to finish her nutrition degree.
